Land Of Plenty

It is rarely stated, but I believe there is more hope because of America than hatred directed at America. Despite harsh words from many foreign governments, I think the people of foreign nations look to America as a sort of pinnacle; more food than can be consumed, too many jobs (we give illegals 'jobs Americans aren't willing to do'), no fear of a tyrannical government, no arbitrary arrest or midnight home intrusions. I imagine a poor family in Anywhere-istan wishing they were in America or that their nation was as prosperous as America.

The world may not speak kindly of our government, but the nation we've built inspires the tired, the poor, & the huddled masses. The opportunity available is here unparalleled. It's why Mexican immigrants will walk through a desert to get here. It's why Cubans use decrepit concoctions as boats to float to Florida. Personally, I don't care how you got here. Just get into the system and start pulling your weight in taxes.

Here is a vessel used to get to America. It crossed 90 miles of sea.
