Democrats Short of Ideas

This appeared on the NYT webpage, under the title "Some Democrats Are Sensing Missed Opportunities." The first sentence is all I have posted and it's all that's worth reading from the article.

Democrats are heading into this year's elections in a position weaker than they had hoped for, party leaders say, stirring concern that they are letting pass an opportunity to exploit what they see as widespread Republican vulnerabilities.

Well DUH!. One question: What new ideas have Democrats introduced? Aside from the 'culture of corruption' and 'we can do better,' they haven't offered a single new concept, not one new take on an issue, no good ideas (and to be fair, few truly abominable ones). Even their slogans leave much to be desired. They are sitting back and waiting for Americans to 'come to their senses' instead of convincing Americans they are any better than the GOP. Foolish indeed.
