Today, during an open session of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) asked AG Alberto Gonzalez whether it was legal for the government to try to influence American public opinion. May I refer the California Senator to three WWII posters, distributed by the government during the events closest resembling our current military engagements (civilians are another matter; see War W/O Citizen Sacrifice):
This poster was for the 7th series of war loans.
This is a classic 'Uncle Sam' enlistment solicitation poster.
An unintended outcome of WWII; the modern working woman.
And finally, we seem to forget the struggle of the oppressed since the fall of Soviet communism.
Enlarging the 'Free World' shouldn't halt because we beat the Soviets.
