Here's To A Happy New Year

My welcoming of the new year consisted of the following: getting to work at 3:30 pm, working until 1 am, and a toast with the staff a few minutes after midnight. I did have a lovely dinner of foie gras (which I only recent learned is banned in Chicago, though apparently there are loopholes), salmon moose on toast points, sausage bread and finished with Alaskan king crab legs, all washed down with an unintrusive chardonnay... How deliciously decadent. Also, I had some time off prior to this weekend, so after two busy nights I'm a bit sore. If anyone ever ask you rhetorically, "Do you know what really chaps my ass?" respond inquisitively but confidently, "Working in a restaurant?"
