Obama and Clinton have joined the Edwards' boycott of a debate sponsored by Fox News and the Congressional Black Caucus (after the MoveOn crowd raised a stink). The DNC - chaired by Howard Dean - provided political cover by officially sanctioning six debates, excluding a Detroit event ostensibly because of Fox News involvement. When did the intellectual left become so afraid of right-wing simpletons?
Here is an honest appraisal from Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), of all people, followed by some forthright commentary from The Nation. Americans need more public debate from their leaders, not less.
