Iran Breaks The Seal

Iran has removed United Nations seals from an uranium enrichment facility. This is one in a long line of steps aimed at convincing the world Iran A. is not to be trifled with, but B. remains acting within a deliberate framework (the opposite of Nixon's 'madman' strategy). International pressure is building, but the same could be said since their program (hidden for 20 years) was discovered, February 9, 2003. The Iranian government will not stop exploring nuclear technology. It is seen domestically as technological progress and has become a point of nationalistic pride.

The United States (or 'the Great Satan,' as the locals say) is no longer the only nation shaking their finger at Iran; the EU3 (Britain, France, Germany) and Russia have both negotiated with Iran to no avail. The EU3 offered economic incentives along with security guarantees. Russia offered a comprehensive nuclear program, without the hassle of storing spent uranium (Iran would return it to Russia). Iran rejected both offers and is now moving forward independently.
