Robert Novak

Robert Novak is one of my favorite columnists. He is a reporter who commonly speaks with 'high ranking' officials (Chief of Staff, for example). His read on the Alito confirmation hearings?

"Failure to make a direct hit on Alito suggests a transcendent defeat for the Democratic judicial confirmation strategy crafted by Kennedy." - Democrats target Alito, but miss the mark, 1/12/2006.

Curious. That sounds like what I've been saying, especially concerning Kennedy (Part 1 & Part 2). Maybe not verbatim...

See our Guide: Supreme Court for a complete picture.
