"Deep public opposition to the ports deal has made the issue a dangerous one for congressional Republicans," wrote Andrew Taylor on March 9, 2006.
There is not a 'deep' public opposition. The public has a superficial understanding of the deal because the public almost no understanding of port operations.
One company is selling its business to another company. That's the deal. In this case, it's a British company selling to an Arab company (welcome to globalization) and the deal should be embraced.
