Come On...

Two things: First, this from Ben Fox at the AP about Gitmo:

Prisoners with makeshift weapons battled guards trying to save a detainee pretending to commit suicide at the U.S. prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, in what military officials said Friday was a coordinated attack that left six prisoners injured.

How about: US guards quelled a coordinate ambush by prisoners held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Guards were responding to a faux suicide attempt in a prisoner dormitory when they were attacked by inmates with makeshift weapons. No Americans were injured; six inmates sustained minor injuries.

Second: This is old news, but it's pure gold... New Jersey has spent $260, 000 and conducted a statewide competition in search of a state slogan. The state government adopted the winner, "New Jersey, Come See For Yourself," but then scraped the phrase in the face of public disdain. Ah! Government in action!
