The Waiting Is The Hardest Part Two

It took 156 days for the elected Iraqi government to form the 37-minister Cabinet. Compare this turnaround with American standards...

The three most important ministries, defense, interior, and national security, are tentative; Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, a Shi'a, has assumed control of the Interior while a Sunni, Salam Zikam al-Zubaie, is the temporary Defense minister. Deputy Prime Minister Barham Saleh, a Kurd, is the acting minister for national security. Two women were selected for Cabinet positions; Wijdan Mikaeil as human rights minister and Fatin Abdel-Rahman as women's affairs minister.
