650,000 Iraqi Deaths

“The report is unbelievable (implausible). These numbers are exaggerated and not precise,” Iraqi government spokesman Ali Al Dabbagh.
  • 50,000 deaths are not from violence.
  • It does not distinguish between civilians and insurgents who fought coalition troops.
  • Saddam's unconventional forces, including an estimated 40,000 Fedayeen ('Men of Sacrifice'), and their fatalities are not differentiated.

This number feels overtly political. This survey claims fatalities ten times higher than virtually all other observers.
