Keith Olbermann is a smart man who came to fame with his trademark home run call, "He hit the ball real hard." In the following clip, his uses a "special comment" segment (a nearly eight minute monologue, an eternity in cable news) in which to repeatedly call Iraq a "war of lies" while reaming the Democratic Congressional leadership for not halting the war immediately (Afghanistan is not mentioned, nor the 6-in-06' plan, none of which is yet law). He wildly overstates the public mandate, while claiming to represent 70% of Americans (though most polls show only a quarter of Americans believe the war is lost and that immediate withdrawal would be strategically beneficial).
He should go back to SportsCenter.
