The Most Important Place On Earth?

A nation half the size of New Jersey may be the keystone for the future of the world. By American comparison, it's as if south-Jersey controlled the fate of humanity; an enervating thought.

A government (that I've described as weak) has withstood a week's worth of protests led by Hezbollah and its supporters. Prime Minister Fuad Saniora rejected Hezbollah's demand for veto power in the Lebanese cabinet, rigidly refusing to dissolve his government in the face of wild accusations by Hassan Nasrallah.

Yesterday, Nasrallah said PM Saniora colluded with Israel & America during the war and confiscated arms from Hezbollah, saying, "those are the ones responsible for the war, not the resistance." Strange; in his first public appearance after the war, Nasrallah celebrated "a great divine, historic and strategic victory," while Ayatollah Khamenei offered a similar assessment (#8).

If Lebanon's government falls, the enemies of freedom will have implemented a critical aspect of their strategic vision: "(extending) the jihad wave to the secular countries neighboring Iraq." As far as Iran is concerned, we're still in a pre-game mentality (awaiting a possible conflict) while they've been actively (and aggressively) implementing their design for the region since February of 2003.
